George R. Powers, age 67, passed away peacefully in his home on March 22.
Born in Louisville, KY and raised in Fairdale, George "Ricky" attended Fairdale High School and was a proud military veteran. He served his country for over seven years both domestically and abroad in the United States Army Signal Corps. After the Army he devoted many years to a career in telecommunications.
He is survived by his children, Ryan (Jessica) Powers and Ashley (Michael) Book, grandchildren Riley and Lorelei Powers, sister Joyce Malone, brothers Carney (Faye) Powers, Terry (Diane) Powers, Edwin Earl Powers, and Bobby Powers, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Juanita Powers, brother Junny Powers. and sisters Betty Powers and Susan Gail Powers.
He will be buried with military honors at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Radcliff, KY.
