Born in Louisville, Kentucky on March 25, 1963, George was the son of George John Herbert III & Betty (Gronefeld) Herbert. He was a retired Captain with the Louisville Metro Fire Department for 27 years, retiring in 2010. George was a handyman who could fix about anything. You could often find him spending time with his children & grandchildren, often on the patio with a Miller Lite. He also loved homemade rolls and the Kentucky Wildcats.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Rebecca L. (Schott) Herbert; children, George John (Megan) Herbert V, Aaron Michael (Brittni) Herbert, Ramiro Gandara & Madelynn Gandara; grandchildren, Allie, Sadie, George VI, Amara, Grayson & one on the way; parents, George John Herbert III & Betty Herbert; sister, Jennifer (Jeff) Taylor; brother, Joe (Kim) Herbert; plus, a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
In lieu of flowers & customary expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Sons Funeral Home on Taylor Blvd, 3601 Taylor Boulevard, with Bruce Kelley, Dennis DePoyster, Sean Hood, Javaudis Lowe, Jeff Taylor & Joey Conway serving as Honorary Pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. and then again on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Hour of 11:00 a.m. also at the Arch L. Heady & Sons Funeral Home on Taylor Blvd, 3601 Taylor Boulevard.
