Frank, and his twin brother, Jim, were born in Louisville, KY on November 18, 1926 to parents James and Alice Cissell. Frank is preceded in death by his loving Wife Elizabeth (Betty) Cissell, Son Michael Cissell, Father James Cissell, Mother Alice “Doyle” Cissell, Brothers, Don, Hank, Leo, Jim Cissell, and Sisters Helen Fable, Virginia Hawkins, Laura May Hasselbach, and Doris Jean Cissell.
He married the love of his life Elizabeth (Betty) Atzinger on November 10, 1950 and were blessed with four children; Sandy Tucker (Larry), Vicky Cissell, Frank Cissell Jr. (Lisa), and Michael Cissell (Karen). Frank put family first, always, and was a loving and wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. His children and grandchildren showered him with much love throughout his life and especially after the passing of his wife Betty in 2009 and son Mike in 2011.
He was a loving grandfather to Melissa Weddle (Tony), Lori Ford (Todd), Jennie Tucker, Justin Cissell, Ashley Simms (Jay), Andy Weber (Whitney), Tasha Swift (Heath), Nik Cissell. Great Grandfather to Morgan Pahner (Mike), Aaron Weddle, Carlin Helmer (Dylan), Alyssa Ford, Emily Ford, Jayla Wilkins, Taryn Weddle, Madison Simms, Annabelle Simms, Brantlee Swift, Hayden Weber, and Easton Swift. Great Great Grandfather to Hoyt Helmer, Hunter Helmer, and Greyson Pahner.
Frank retired from Philip Morris where he worked for 30 years. He worked hard to provide the best for his family, often working two jobs and countless hours of overtime.
He was an Army veteran of WWII and proudly served his country.
Frank enjoyed coaching his son’s baseball teams at Valley Sports and was active in the PRP booster club. He spent many summers enjoying lake life at Rough River, cruising on his pontoon, and fun in the sun. He loved traveling, laughing, and gambling with his daughters. He could not pass up chocolate “smacks” earning the nickname “Cookie Monster” from his brother-n- laws. He proved to be the most loving and caring father and grandfather in the world to his children and grandchildren and loved nothing more than to spoil all of them. He was proud of his family and thought we were all beautiful and perfect and could do no wrong.
His funeral Mass will be on Monday, March 21, 2022, at 11am at St. Paul Catholic Church, 6901 Dixie Highway, with interment following in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1pm from 8pm at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway.
