Fay was a graduate of the Louisville Girls High School and the University of Louisville. She was a public elementary school teacher in Louisville for several years and later a librarian at Field Elementary where she retired in 1988.
She was a member of Epiphany United Methodist Church where she taught the Fellowship Class and sang in the choir.
Fay was also a member of United Methodist Women, KY Retired Teachers Association, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Friends of the Louisville Free Public Library.
She is survived by her husband George Edwards Jr.; three sons, Ken of Clarksville, TN., Bruce (Susan) of Grand Blanc, MI., Tom (Patty), of Richmond, KY.; eight grandchildren, Cory Edwards (Natalie), Chris Edwards (Christina), Matthew Edwards (Ashley), Lindsey Edwards, Nathan Edwards (Alissa), Emily Horn (Shane), Kelly Gries (Jon), Ashley Edwards; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Fay’s life will be conducted at noon on Saturday, February 22nd, 2014 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady and Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Memorial visitation will be from 11am until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations to Wesley Manor or the Kentucky Children’s Home.
