Dorothy “Dottie” Jean Downs, 87, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2024 with her loving family by her side. Born in Louisville, Kentucky to the late James and Lucille Bell on July 27, 1936. Her most favorite thing of all was being with her family. She loved to play card games with her family. She loved fishing and going to casinos to play slots machines. Everyone who ever met her loved her.
Left to cherish her memory are children, Linda Pharris (Michael), Tony Paxton (Debbie), Stevie Paxton, Sonny Porter (Becky); grandchildren, Kelli Hester (Pat O’Bryan), Shannon Carnes (Mitchell), Amanda Morgan (Michael); 5 great-grandchildren with a 6th on the way; and many loving friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 10am – 2pm at Arch L. Heady and Son funeral home, 8519 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY 40219. The Funeral Service will follow at 2pm with a private burial in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
