Dottie was born in Royal Oaks, Michigan and brought up in Needham, Massachusetts. After college she met Bo Dahlgren in Stamford, Connecticut. They married in 1951 and had five children. Throughout their marriage, they lived in seven different places. Apart from golf, Dottie was well known for her artistic ability, bridge, and rummikub.
Dottie is survived by her four children; Cathy (Troy), Debbi, David, and Todd (Alison), and Julie Dahlgren, five grandchildren; Katie (Steve), Hannah, Beau, Christian, and Brennan (Etta), five step-grandchildren; Corey (Dawn), Erica (Nick), Gregory, Alyssa (Jacob), and Ashley. Additionally, five great grandchildren; Emma, Victor, Henry, Alexander, and William, and step great-grandchildren, Alex (Danielle), Owen, Trevor, Max, and Jack. Nieces and Nephews; Sue (Norm), Ricky (Cindy), Nancy (Bradley), along with life long friends, Judy and Rob Roll (daughter, Jennifer and son, Robbie), and many friends of Dottie's from The Grand Senior Living.

She will be reunited with her husband at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliffe, Kentucky.
Dottie was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Bo Dahlgren, infant daughter, Lauren and sister, Patricia Winslow.
The family will have a private burial on February 7th, 2025 and a Celebration of Life Service, with friends and family on Saturday Feb 8th, 2025. Times to be determined.
