Donna J. Flener

Donna J. Flener, 69, of Louisville Kentucky, was born on December 19, 1952 and departed this life on Thursday, August 4, 2022. Waiting for her in heaven were her parents, Letcher Sr. and Lorene Flener; brothers, Owen and Al Jr.; and her niece Octavia.

She was a loving and caring person who always put others first, especially her family. If you knew her well you also know that she was headstrong, hardworking and independent; endearing traits that she passed to her children and grandchildren. Happiest when surrounded by those that she loved, she enjoyed holidays, cookouts and any reason to get together as a family. She was a loving mother, “Grammy,” sister and friend. Quick to smile and easy to laugh, especially at herself. She loved her “Grumpy” shirts and felt that wearing pants was overrated. She also had an especially soft spot for animals and enjoyed spoiling all of her furry family members. She enjoyed working in her yard, feeding the birds, watching sports, and listening to music…she loved Rod Stewart and George was her favorite Beatle.

Left to cherish her love and memory are her children Saedra Jennings (Trey) and Stuart Plush (Melissa); grandchildren Jessie Jennings (Liz), Jackie Thomas (Eric), Alex Reed (Tommy), Chayse Jennings and AJ Jennings; great grandsons Konnor and Carter; siblings Roger, Diane and Dawn; lifelong friend Michael Plush; and countless extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 9 and her funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, August 10 at Evergreen Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY 40213. The family would like to express their gratitude to the entire team at Hosparus for their help taking such good care of Donna.
