Diane Thelma Crenshaw, 71, formerly of Jeffersontown, passed away, Tuesday December, 21 peacefully at her log home in Anderson County. She was the daughter of the late, George W. and Thelma I. Kaestner. She was a graduate of Eastern High school.
When Robert and Diane first married in 1958,she and Robert lived in Key West, Florida while he was in the United States Navy. Diane worked at Burger Chef in Jeffersontown as a night manager for several years and later she worked part-time at Foto Fair.
She loved being a wife, and mother, and spending time with all her family. Her passion was reading mystery books and spent lots of time reading and enjoying nature on her porch. She and her daughter Rhonda, would attend craft fairs and art shows whenever they could. Diane loved to go for "Sunday drives" and she and Robert would frequent Bernheim Forest and State Parks for afternoon sightseeing.
Diane fought a brave battle with Multiple Sclerosis for most of her adult life. She never complained, never used her disease as an excuse and did all she could to overcome her obstacles. She was a loving wife, and the best mother, grandmother, and even great-grandmother to all her family and will be sadly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert W. Crenshaw; Children, Ronald W. Crenshaw, Russell W. Crenshaw (Tee), and Rhonda G. Barnett (Shawn); 6 Grandchildren, Shawn Barnett, Jr., Timmy Barnett, Lindsey, Dannielle and Brittney Crenshaw, and Jaxson Barnett; 1 Great-grandchild; Mackenzy Brandt, sister; Cherie I. Gibert, brother; Gary W. Kaestner (Ruth).
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Arch L. Heady-Cralle Funeral Home 2428 Frankfort Ave., with entombment at Evergeen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday. Please visit www.archlheadycralle.com to leave a condolence with the family.
