Dennis L. King, 69, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on the evening of June 11, 2014, at the Hospice Pavilion, with his loving wife by his side. He was a retiree from Reynolds Aluminum with 32 years of service; and for the last 7 years had worked for the Arch L. Heady / Dignity Memorial group. He was a U S Navy veteran of the Viet Nam War, and was among the first sailors to navigate the world in a nuclear powered ship.
Preceding him in death was his parents Charles Ramsey and Carrie Mae Yaden King, and his brothers, David, Fred and Jerry.
Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of 47 years, Diane Bland King; daughter, Dawn Childress (Tracy) and son, Corey King; grandson, Noah Childress; granddaughter, Katelyn Childress; brother, Ricky King; sisters, Darla Harrah, Vicki Beatty (Wilson) and his special and loving sister, Janet Vance (Johnny). He will also be missed by his loyal furry companion, "BB" (King).
A Memorial Life Celebration service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. A gathering of family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 11 am-2 pm at the funeral home.
