Dennis R. Beard

Dennis R. Beard departed this world for a more peaceful and glorious world on May 19th 2020. I have no doubt that he was greeted by his Father in Heaven along with his dad, David Beard, grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins and dear friends, who went before him. On that Jan 16th day in 1957, he was welcomed to our world by David and Mary (Stewart) Beard. He is survived by his mother, Mary Stewart; 2 brothers Danny Hayes (Shari) and Dale Beard (Belinda). He had many Aunts and Uncles and cousins that filled his life. He graduated from Doss High in 1976, where he was also a member of the school band. He worked at the family restaurant, the Cow Palace, and moved on to his passion of music which stayed with him all his life. He was well known in the local music scene, he traveled the country living out his dream, and he worked with artists such as Johnny Paycheck, and countless others; when he was in Nashville, he worked as a studio drummer. He worked with his dad and brother again later in life in Beard’s Trucking. He had nephews and nieces that he loved and cherished as he watched them grow. He was blessed to see them with their children. A confirmed bachelor changed in 1994, when he married Karen Conaway and gained another family that loved him and enjoyed his company. His father-in law, Mr. C, also went to make a place for him in Heaven in 2018. He is survived by a Mother-in-law (Mrs. C) a sister-in-law, Joyce Conaway and brother-in-law Bruce (Missy) Conaway. It didn’t matter if he was in Kentucky or West Virginia, his nieces and nephews always enjoyed their time with their Uncle Dennis and they will surely miss him. These last years, he enjoyed playing with local bands and Jam sessions. He played with old friends and made new friends. He was a kind and loving man and loved by many; he never met a stranger and all who knew him were better for their time with him. Memorial gifts may be made to the KY Organ Donor Affiliates. A celebration of Dennis’ life will be held at noon on Saturday in the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with cremation to follow. Visitation will be on Friday at the funeral home from 11 am to 5 pm. In accordance with the latest COVID-19 restrictions, attendance for visitation will be a maximum of 30 people or less at any given time, and 48 or less for the funeral service. Face masks are strongly recommended.
