David grew up in West Virginia and Texas. He went on to join the military and served in Vietnam.
Sgt. Thomas served a distinguished military career serving for 21 years in the Navy and Airforce and retired at the rank of Master Sergeant.
David was a Free Mason, and spent his golden years at the VA club drinking Miller Lite with friends and relaxing at home with his beloved dog, Delphi.
David Thomas is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Thomas and son Shane Thomas as well as his two parents: Floyd Gilbert Thomas & Ruth May Cronin, three brothers: Ted, Jim, Junior, and one sister: Thelma. He leaves behind four children: Michael, Jason, Shannon, Karie, and eight grandchildren: Nikole, Austin, Dallas, Tyler, Avery, Taylour, Ryley, and Bryonna, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for David will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218. A funeral service will occur Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven.
