David Lee Lucas, 80, passed away with his loving family by his side on Thursday, December 5, 2024. He was born in Louisville to the late William B. and Nora Marie Lucas on October 23, 1944. David proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He also served in the Air National Guard and had a long career with The Ford Motor Company. David was a constable of the City of Hunters Hollow for a short time as well. He loved fishing, especially bass fishing. He was a dedicated member of Eastern Gate Baptist Church and had previously served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. God - Family - Country is what David was all about!
David was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Doris Jane Lucas, Delores Meredith, Ronnie B. Lucas; brothers-in-law, David Meredith Sr., and James Grider.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 60 years, Sharon Goben Lucas; children, Kimberly Masterson, Rhonda Childress (Mike), Steve Lucas (Angela), John Sparks; grandchildren, Ronnie, Jonathan, Brayden, Rebekah, Brennen, Blake; three great-grandchildren, Owen, Hudson, Emersyn; siblings, Connie Allen (Mike), Betty Grider; sister-in-law, Beverly Lucas; several nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Visitation for David will be Monday, December 9, 2024 from 11am to 7pm and Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 10am until the time of service at Arch L. Heady Funeral Home - Okolona Chapel. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at 11:30am at the funeral home. Entombment will immediately follow in Evergreen Cemetery, 4623 Preston Hwy, 40213.
