He was a U. S. Marine who served in the Korean Conflict and was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ. Chet had worked for Fawcett Dearing Printing as an photo engraver but was probably more well known by "Chet Cline and His Orchestra" for over 20 years, and also played in the Kosair Band. He not only played the saxaphone, he also repaired instruments and taught scuba diving. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Mattingly.
Left to cherish is memory is his loving wife of 62 years, Edna Miller Cline; daughter, Peggy (Norbert - "Junie") Allgeier; grandchildren, Lisa (Jessie) Sutherland, Doug (Becky) Mattingly, Angela (Scott) Keller along with seven great-grandchildren.
Chet's Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, November 7, 2011 at noon, at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. on Sunday and after 10 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
