Charles aka: Ken, Patches, Sonny, Chuck and Dad. Was born and raised in Louisville Ky. He attended DuPont Manual High School where he graduated in 1958. After his high school graduation, he enlisted into the United States Navy. He served in the Navy for 22 plus years, and retired with a ranking of E6 (Petty Officer First Class) he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a Vietnam Veteran and had been stationed mostly in San Diego but also in Japan and the Philippines. During his stay in San Diego, he had taken a break from the Military and served as a San Diego Police Officer.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Geneva South and Samuel Gregory, as well as his daughter, Misty Dawn Marie Felicia.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years Tonia Gregory, 5 Children: June Dergan, Brenda Stemper, Michael Gregory, Kimberly Crowe and Shawn Fitts. Also, he had 7 grandchildren: Crystal Butterly, Quinton Dergan, Logan Dergan, Matthew Stemper and Nicholas Felicia, Payton Dennison and Bratlee Fitts. He also had 4 great grandchildren: Harrison, Ashton & Elliana Butterly, and Devin Schmidt.
He always had a passion for art in one way or another. As a young boy of 16-year-old, he designed and drew up the plans for the home his father had built for his family and still lived in that home until his passing.
He also started and ran a custom embroidering company and had the wonderful opportunity to create a custom patch “In Memory of Odie” for a TV show called “Sons of Anarchy”.
He loved to play darts with his wife and friends and enjoyed life as much as he could. His big apple cheeks will never be forgotten and his love to tease anyone he could every chance he got.
He had a smile like Santa Claus and his HEART was made of gold.
He was an amazing Husband, Father and Friend.

His funeral will be a military honors service at 11 am on Friday March 19, 2021 at the KY Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY.
