Carmel Lee Asbury, 75 of Louisville (Previously of Spartanburg, SC) died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on September 17, 2022. Lee was born on August 2, 1947 in St. Albans, WV. He retired after 32 years of service from the United States Postal Service where he worked as the Director of Operations for the Upstate of South Carolina. He was a decorated Army Veteran of the Vietnam war.
Lee is preceded in death by his loving wife, Jeannie Kaye Asbury; daughters, Kimberly Ann, Anne Marie and Jennifer Lynn; brothers, Dell Asbury Jr., and Lindsey Asbury and a sister, Silvelva Asbury Sheets.
He is survived by his son, Kevin Lyle Asbury; daughter, Nikki Lee Cecil and son in law, Chad Cecil, sister, Shelby Asbury Allen and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 10-12:30 pm at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Louisville KY 40222. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday at 12:30 pm at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.
