He was born to the late Edward and Ethelda Alford in Louisville, Kentucky on December 20, 1932.
Boyd is also preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Rouse and his nephew Boyd Steven Rouse.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of almost 73 years, Frances Alford, his only daughter, Michelle Alford, along with several friends.
When Boyd was a young man he joined the Marines where he acquired his love for firearms and began collecting them. He spent many days at the range with friends. He was a member of the Jeffersontown Masonic Lodge. Boyd was a lover of music, his favorite being jazz, he played drums in the Commonwealth Brass Band for many years. Music was his first love. He loved all animals and had many furry companions over the span of his life. After many years of working at Phillip Morris, Boyd retired and he and his wife began traveling in their RV, they visited all the states except Hawaii. He was dedicated to his fitness, still working out only a week before he passed away.
Boyd will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Boyd will be laid to rest privately within Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218
