Billie Jaggers, formally of New Albany, Indiana, was born in Edmondson County, Kentucky on Thursday, February 27, 1930. He passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 in Louisville, Kentucky. Preceding him in death were his parents Asa G. Jaggers and Maude (Minton) Jaggers. He was also preceded by his first wife Emma Eloise (Wilkins) Jaggers along with his siblings Asa Jr, Arvil, Narvel, Lola Mae, Virginia, Earl, and Jean. Also deceased is stepson Jeff Barnes.
He was retired supervisor from Lorillard Tobacco Corp and a lifelong Baptist by faith. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Masonic Temple.
He was a lifelong lover of sports, especially coaching and participating in many baseball and softball teams.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Helen Faye (Barnes) Jaggers, his children Earl (Debra) Jaggers, David (Phyllis) Jaggers and Susan Mitchell. His grandchildren Matt (Kim) Jaggers, Jennie (Travis) Kiesler, Hannah Jaggers and Josh Jaggers. His great-grandchildren Sam Jaggers, Maddie Kiesler, Aidan Kiesler, Cooper Jaggers Jenna Eloise Jaggers and Cameron Polk. His stepchildren Steve (Priscilla) Barnes, Kim (Cleo) Saltsman, and Daniel Barnes. Step grandchildren Nicholas Barnes, Tara Barnes, Michelle (Jon) Huffman, Emma, Trey (Jessica) Saltsman, Patrick Saltsman and Marissa Barnes. A visitation for Billie will be held Sunday, August 13, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady and Son Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 3601 Taylor Blvd, Louisville, KY 40215. A funeral service will occur Monday, August 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM, 3601 Taylor Blvd, Louisville, KY 40215. A committal service will occur Monday, August 14, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Louisville Memorial Gardens West, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40216.
