So sorry to hear about Betty.  She was truly a wonderful, caring person.  We enjoyed the many years we umpired together and played at the club.

To Willie and family, my deepest sympathy to you all.  Betty was not only an icon in KY, she touched many lives around the south (mine included). Aunt Betty was the best Babysitter any kid would love to have had.  I was a hard case but she had no problems handling me.  I will always remember the Fort Knox grocery runs, Kenwood Bowling League and Nolin Lake.  Please except my condolences.  She will be missed by all that knew her.

Betty was a special gift to so many of us.  Her spirit was one of giving, caring, and making us all feel like family.  She was a wonderful tennis captain and I will  miss her enthusiam. She made Fern Valley a home we felt comfortable in and so many of us miss that.  She was one of a kind that made life more fun! My  heartfelt sympathy goes out to Willie and her family.

Betty was one of the first people we met when we moved to Louisville.  She opened her club, her friendship and her heart to us. May her spirit live on in all of us. Our thoughts are with you, Willie and family.

Hey "little sister". Over the years we didn't see each other as often as we should have but, even after you busted the spokes out of my new Western Flyer bicycle, you were still always and will forever be in my thoughts. I didn't say it often enough but I love you and will greatly miss knowing that you were only a card or a phone call away. I know that, if what they say is true, there will be another angel in heaven and another very bright star in the sky for all to see....Willie, you are a good man! THANK YOU for watching over and supporting my "little sister" through her last ordeal.

Betty was my favorite tournament director and I tried to play her Holiday Classic as many times as I could. Tennis players across the South will miss you.

I was sad to hear the news of Betty's passing and may God bless her family in their time of sorrow. I have so many fond memories of the Fern Valley Christmas tournament and of Betty's tireless efforts to make all players feel at home during the holidays.  KY tennis has lost a true champion!

Betty did so much for the tennis world.  She was a wonderful person and will be missed greatly. My sympathy to all the family.

I am really saddened by the news of Betty's passing! Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, Willie.  Betty was one of the best!!!  I will forever cherish my tennis experiences with her, as a team mate and also a member on her team.  She was one of the best Captains I've ever known.  Her tournament was the best.  Buddy and I were blessed to have you both as friends and will never forget the fun we had on our tournament trips.  She was a great friend and did so much for others.  I will hold her memory in my heart and smile whenever I think of her. She will forever be an angel.

Betty was truly a joy to know.  I still recall her energetic welcomes every time I would arrive at the tennis center.  She was such a nice and joyful lady.  My prayers go out to Willie and the entire family.

 Even though we didn't get to see you all much,I miss Aunt Betty already.I remember many good times visiting during summer when I was young,couldn't wait for those visits,as we got older had our own kids & grandkids visits got fewer & fewer but I never forgot the times we spent together.I used to love the smell of the house when Aunt Betty was making her ice tea.I know kindda silly. As a mother-in-law, you were a treasure. You were there when times were good, and a life saver when things went bad. I thank you for all you gave. The heavens will be brighter with you in it. Watch out for all of us. You will be missed.

am so sorry to hear of Betty's passing. She was a wonderful person, tennis player, club manager and tennis umpire. She was a tennis friend to me and actually gave me the push to become a tennis umpire 20+ years ago. I know she will be missed by her family and her tennis family. How many New Year's Even tennis parties did she throw together at the last minute? My sincere condolences to Willie and her family.

So sorry to hear of Betty's passing. My heart goes out to Willie and her family and to all my Fern Valley friends. It has been many years since I have been there but I have always felt she was the heart and soul of Fern Valley and tennis friends every where. Her loss will be felt by so many, but her life and her enthusiasm for all the people she loved and played with through the years will live on forever in the hearts of those that knew her.

Betty was a manager, a wife, a mother and dear friend.  She was so gifted in so many ways.  We had wonderful battles on court, but she also taught this pitiful soul how to sew fleece blankets for Kosair for young ones on her carport and in her home and garage.  God bless her family and loved ones.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I didn't see a lot of Aunt Betty but have VERY fond memories of each visit. I still have the jeans she taught me to embroider on many, many moons ago. She was so giving of herself.

Just thinking of Betty brings up so many memories that have been such a part of my life. Not only was there tennis, but working for her, making a sweatshirt on the lake and yes she even hit me in the eye with a tennis ball. I will miss her so much and I will always remember how kind she was to my Bay. He loved his Aunt Betty.

Willie and all of my "Fern Valley" family,  my heart goes out to you all.  Betty

All of us who knew and loved Betty are missing her already.  She was one of the strongest women we've ever known.  So many lives have been touched by her generosity, humor, honesty, and wisdom.  We met because of our common interest in tennis, but that was just the springboard for the development of a friendship that lasted over twenty years. All of Betty's family will be in our thoughts and prayers.  Willie, we love you.
