She was born in South Bend, Indiana to the late Ralph and Winifred Cramer. She was a graduate of Purdue University and a retired manager with the Social Security Administration. Arlene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her family brought her so much joy. She also had incredible strength in the face of adversity. Despite her physical challenges, she was extremely grateful for the life she had and thankful for her many blessings. Besides spending time with family and friends, Arlene enjoyed flower gardening, reading, taking walks and traveling. She was also a voracious reader of books and was very intellectually curious. She viewed the world as an amazing place and found great pleasure in visiting other countries and
experiencing other cultures.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Charles (Chuck) Schuler, loving children Dr. John Cramer Schuler (Dr. Elizabeth), Suzanne Elizabeth Schuler (Daniel Guillory),stepchildren Lori Gavin (Shawn) and Chuck Schuler (Kathleen), grandchildren Daniel and Caroline Guillory and Ivy Arlene Schuler, step grandchildren Lindsay and Madison Gavin and brother Bruce Cramer (Marla).
A memorial visitation will be held from 2pm - 4pm on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Arch L.
Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Louisville, KY 40222. with memorial service
will follow at 4 pm at the funeral home chapel.
Inurnment will take place at a later date at Cave Hill Cemetery.
The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Home of the Innocents or
the Kentucky Humane Society.
