Anita Louise Straub

Anita Louise Straub, age 84, of Mooresville, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022. Anita was born March 6, 1938 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Joseph Harvey Logsdon and Virginia Houchin Whiddon. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Walter Logsdon.

Anita graduated from Okeechobee high school in Florida in 1956 and attended Sullivan Business College, she was co-owner and operator of the family business, Straub Enterprises. Anita was a loving and devoted wife, mom and mamaw. She took care of her family and friends. Anita was an avid stock car racer and loved spending her time on the track. She loved traveling with her family and watching her grandson race his stock cars. She was known to everyone as "Mamaw". Anita adored and admired her grandson, Chris and her great-grandchildren, Leona and Fletcher, her grandchildren were her life, she was one proud Mamaw. Anita will be truly missed by all those who adored her, she will forever be remembered for her warm and beautiful heart.

Left behind to cherish Anita's memory is her loving husband of 63 years, Al Straub; daughter, Carrie Gabehart (Keith Buckner); grandson, Christopher Gabehart (Jen); great-grandchildren, Leona and Fletcher Gabehart; siblings, David Allgood, Sue Weatherholtz (Ike), Rose Berry, Joseph Michael Logsdon (Lisa) and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Anita will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, Kentucky 40213. A service to honor the life of Anita will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Anita will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
