Sue was a member of Southeast Christian Church and devoted her life to caring for her family and helping others. Matthew 25:40 – “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” -- was not only a favorite Bible verse, but also the inspiration for Sue’s generosity. She loved helping others, whether it be through many charities or simply providing assistance to neighbors. She often purchased used bicycles, refurbished them, and gave them to needy children in the area. Sue was gifted in many areas, including music, crafts, art, knitting and sewing. She delighted in turning discarded items into works of art. A favorite hobby was collecting stuffed bears, dolls and other unique toys, many of which she gave to wide-eyed children. For many years she served as the secretary for Kenwood Heights Christian Church. Sue was perhaps best-known for her musical talents. As a teen and young adult she and both her sister and sister-in-law were a popular singing trio, “The Harmonettes”, who performed at many worship services in the Louisville area. Sue also played the piano for Camden Avenue Christian Church and the organ for multiple area funeral homes. In her later years, Sue described her perfect evening as sharing time at home in the evening with husband Jim, listening to gospel music and enjoying pictures, visits and phone calls from her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sue touched many lives and will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by her many family members, neighbors and friends.
