Amal Jaber-Musa, of Louisville, Kentucky, died peacefully at 79 years old surrounded by loved ones, on May 10, 2024. Born on August 10, 1944 in Palestine to Abdul Kareem Jaber and Khayriah Abu Gazala. Amal held citizenship in both the United States of America and The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. She pursued and earned a degree in English Education, resided in Liverpool, England, and subsequently became an English teacher in Kuwait where she also embraced the joys of marriage and motherhood.
In the early 1980s, she established permanent residency in Louisville, KY. Settling in Kentucky, Amal found a new way to touch the lives of others, working as an interpreter and English as a Second Language teacher with the Catholic Charities of Louisville, Kentucky Refugee Ministries. Amal's home was an extension of her warm spirit. A phenomenal cook, she delighted in experimenting with new recipes and sharing them with family and friends. However, her most significant teaching moments came when she imparted essential life values, compassion and wisdom to her four children, shaping their understanding of life and instilling priceless principles within them.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Dr. Farouk Musa, their four children and eight beloved grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends and remembered for her unconditional love, unwavering support, nurturing guidance, strong convictions, humor and perseverance. Her influence continues to resonate in the way her children navigate the world and interact with others, serving as a testament to her enduring love and presence in their lives.
To our dearest mother Amal, in heaven, we express our gratitude for your enduring love and unwavering guidance. Though you are no longer with us, your presence continues to guide us, and your love remains in our hearts. You are dearly missed and will always be cherished. May you find rest in eternal peace.
