Terri Nighswonger Terri Blair-Nighswonger, born February of 1959, lost her battle with cancer on Monday, August 21, 2017. She was surrounded by loved ones when she passed peacefully in her sleep. Terri was the older of two children born to Darvin and Doris Blair. The family lived in Bakersfield, Morro Bay and settled in Los Osos.Terri graduated from Morro Bay High School in 1977. She said that if she was to describe herself in one word, it would be "hope." She "hoped" that things would be better, that people would be kind to one another, and she "hoped" that people every- where would be loved. She always put others first. Terri worked for many years at CEA Berkleonics where she met her future husband. In 1994 she married Lyle Nighswonger and together they lived on property they had purchased in 1993 and was the family's home until her passing. After marriage she worked for Diamond Magnetics, and then Mountain Cycle. Terri took a break from her career in 1999 with the birth of her only child, Sarah. After 10 years she returned to work, first as a volunteer at Hawthorne Elementary and then Laguna Middle school and most recently at SLO High School as a Paraeducator. Terri loved her interesting work because as she said "I love my kids." Among Terri's other loves were her books and animals. The cats and dogs she had as pets were "her first kids." She always had an open heart for everyone who needed it. Terri's love, kindness, and heart of "hope" will not be forgotten. She leaves behind her husband, Lyle; daughter Sarah; brother, Keith; sister, Eve; and many others who call her family. There will be a memorial at 10:00am, Saturday, September 2, 2017, at the Church of the Nazarene, 3396 Johnson Avenue, San Luis Obispo.
