Jacalyn Bartschi Fisher

Jacalyn Rae Bartschi was born to Russ and Evelyn Bartschi on February 28, 1949, in Deer Lodge, Montana. Following a move to Idaho, and the birth of sister Dana, the family moved to California in 1951. Baby sister, Susie, was born in 1955. Russ, age 33, was killed in a car accident in 1962, leaving 31-year-old Evelyn to raise Jackie 13, Dana 11, and Susie 7, on her own. Jackie had a part-time job working in a travel agency while attending Santa Monica High School. She graduated in 1967. After high school, she became an Executive Secretary at an insurance office in Hollywood, and later in the Chancellor's Office of Pepperdine University in Malibu.

Jackie met her high school sweetheart, Eddie, in 1965. They were engaged in 1969 just before Eddie was deployed to Vietnam. They married December 11, 1970, in Santa Monica where they lived happily ever after. Jackie and Eddie were thrilled to have reached their milestone Golden 50th anniversary in 2020, though they couldn’t celebrate as they hoped due to Covid. Sadly, Jackie passed just six days shy of their 54th anniversary, but her Eddie still brought her home their signature red and white roses nonetheless. The epitome of a perfect couple, they were delighted to have checked off a bucket list item of exploring and sleeping together in all 50 states!

They became very proud parents to Danny in 1972 and Becky in 1974. Jackie loved her beautiful babies and being a mom was a dream come true for her. She enjoyed every stage of their lives as she helped them to become successful adults. Her kids were her world, and she was an amazing mother! They took family trips every year and enjoyed camping, river rafting, biking, hiking, and exploring. Jackie especially loved travelling and enjoyed bowling, golf, and did Jazzercize for 30 years! She was a stay-at-home mom until 1984 when she became the attendance clerk at Will Rogers Elementary School. She retired in 2004 after two wonderful decades.

Both kids married - Dan to Nickie and Becky to Al - and each live out of state. Happily, each couple gave her two beautiful granddaughters. Though it was difficult to live so far apart, it was Jackie's great pleasure to be able to visit the kids around the country and watch her four precious grands - Ellie, Toni, Amy Rain, and Dani - grow into amazing and lovely young ladies. She was the best grandma to her four girls who all loved her dearly! Jackie was forever thankful for her beautiful family, amazing friendships, and many blessings in this wonderful life.
