She was born in Southbridge, Massachusetts to Armand Anger and M. Albina Desourdy and is the 3rd oldest and was the last surviving of six children. She is preceded in death by her husband Vincent Patrick Damian, her son David Patrick Damian, her parents and siblings, Rita Nelson, Theresa Stanton, Jean Lajeunesse, Pauline Dumphy and Raymond Anger. She is survived by her daughters Donna Damian, Debra Hausman and her husband Steve Hausman of Carson City Nevada.
Florina grew up in Southbridge and Holland Massachusetts on a small farm in the country. As a young adult, she moved back to Southbridge to work at the American Optical Company. She met and married her husband Vincent Damian October 26, 1946 at Notre Dame Church in Southbridge Massachusetts. They crossed the country by bus to honeymoon in Los Angeles and decided to stay. Eventually they moved to Venice and started a family and later moved to Santa Monica where Florina worked for Gaylord Plastics in Santa Monica for many years.
Florina was a member of St. Monica’s Church where she joined the Boutique Group for many years and contributed by sewing and knitting beautiful blankets and articles for the annual sales to support various charities. She also joined St. John’s Hospital knitting group where they knitted baby caps and booties for the newborns.
Florina is being cared for at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park and Mortuary. Flowers are appreciated and donations are welcome to the American Cancer Society.
The funeral service will be 10:30am February 1st at St. Monica Catholic Church, 725 California Avenue, Santa Monica with Rev. Msgr. Lloyd Torgerson officiating. Lunch will be served after Mass in the Duval Center followed by Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery 5835 W. Slauson Avenue, Culver City.
