Abdol Karim Khonsari (Kevin) was born in Ahwaz, Iran, in 1928 and passed away on November 8, 2024. He was survived by his wife of 72 years, Pari Khonsari, and their four daughters: Loretta Khastoo, married to Shapour Khastoo; Anahita Khonsari-Johnson, married to Joseph Johnson; and twins Yasmine Khonsari and Marjan Khonsari. He also leaves behind three grandchildren—Amir Khastoo (married), Leila Khastoo (married), and Ariel Johnson—and four great-grandchildren.
Karim lived in Iran and worked for the National Iranian Oil Company for 35 years. His appointment to the company's New York office brought him and his family to the United States, where he continued working until the Iranian Revolution in 1979. After this, he decided to retire and remain in the USA, eventually moving his family to California. There, he worked as a realtor in the Los Angeles area until his retirement at the age of 79. Following his retirement, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Karim was an extremely accomplished individual with a passion for creating things, particularly furniture. He crafted beautiful pieces for his children and was skilled in building, electrical work, and plumbing repairs, handling all maintenance in his own home. He instilled in his children the values of independent thinking, honesty, and the importance of education. The positive impact of his kindness and willingness to support family and friends continues to be felt and cherished by those who benefited from his generosity.
Karim had a remarkable ability to make everyone around him laugh. His infectious humor and warm spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. The staff and residents at his rehab facility adored him, even on his toughest days, shedding many tears after his passing.
