Helen Florence Smith

Services will be held Monday, November 27, 2023, 2:00 pm at Lakeview Funeral Home with Jeffrey O'Rear, minister of Judson Road Church of Christ officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 1:00 pm.

Helen was born October 5, 1926, in Diana, to Harvey and Modie Mae Lee Jones. They preceded her in death as well as her husband of 54 years, Allen Gordon Smith Sr. and her sister, Dorothy Jones Smith. Helen and Gordon were married November 22, 1946 in Longview. They lived in Houston until 1951 while attending college. They lived in Longview from 1951 to 1956, they lived in Diana from 1956 until Gordon died in 2000. Helen then moved to Longview.

She worked and dedicated her life to serving Veterans and POWs from 1946 until her passing.

Helen leaves her family of one son, Allen and Nelda Smith; daughter, Daniela and John Woods; grandchildren, Christine and RJ Ross, Tim and Jennifer Barton, Amy Vick, Jennifer and Kris Walker, Alyson Woods and Sam Brown, Susan and Jason Floyd, Alisa Thorold; six great grandchildren, Emmilyn Barton, Morgan and Kammie Walker, Jake and Maddox Floyd and Lennox Thorold; two great great grandsons, Malachi and Ryder.
