Services for Hardy J. Harper, age 89, of Longview will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 10th at Lakeview Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Schulik officiating. The family will receive friends and family for visitation Monday, May 9th from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Hardy was born on April 21, 1922 in Porchatoula, Louisiana to W.N. Harper and Easter Joiner. He proudly served his country in the US Army during World War II. In 1969, Hardy joined Mobberly Baptist Church and served as a deacon there. One of the great joys of his life was taking his grandchildren fishing. On May 5, 2011, Hardy went home to heaven to be with his Lord and his wife Dessie, who preceded him home.
He is survived by his sons, Dale Harper and his wife Kendall, and Tony Harper and his wife Connie, four grandchildren Brady Harper, Nathan Harper and his wife Sharayah, Luke Harper and Micah Harper and his wife Emily, brothers in law, T.J. Bowden, and Charles Bowden, and sister in law, Ann Wade.
