Emily C Castillo Alaniz

Emily Castillo Alaniz, 93, of Longview, passed away August 12, 2016 at a local hospital. She was born July 26, 1923 in Jourdanton, TX to Victor and Leonor Cardena Castillo. Ms. Alaniz worked for different nursing homes in the area throughout her life, and loved selling her goods out of the store that she ran in her home. She is a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church.

Ms. Alaniz is survived by her son: John David Alaniz and his wife Anita of Longview; daughter: Virginia Alaniz-Finkel and her husband of Albuquerque, NM; son: Sebastian Alaniz, Jr. of Longview; grandchildren: John David Alaniz, Jr., Alex Alaniz, Kristy Benge, James Dallas Wicker, Channon Daye Suniga, Sebastian Alaniz, III, Melissa Cunningham; great grandchildren: Alissa Alaniz, Morgan Benge, Ashton Benge, Brayden Cunningham, Kaylin Cunningham, Jeremiah Wicker, Ronnie Alonzo Suniga, Jr., Braven Alaniz, Madison Alaniz, andk Karma Alaniz; sisters: Ricki Harrington of Benton, LA, Edwina Banda of San Antonio, Angie Blanco of Ft. Stockton, TX, and Georgia Alaniz of Laredo, TX; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one sister: Juanita Gonzales.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Lakeview Funeral Home, with funeral services to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be: Sebastian Alaniz, Jr., Sebastian Alaniz, III, Alex Alaniz, Sr., John David Alaniz, John David Alaniz, Jr., Ronnie Alonzo Suniga.
