Rhee was born December 16, 1940 in Hollandale, MS to Edgar and Molly Busby. She grew up in the Delta of the Mississippi and graduated from Hollandale High School. After graduating she went to work as a telephone switchboard operator and transitioned to a processor for Baxter Manufacturing in Mississippi. She met the love of her life Royal Danny Tubbs and they were married in December 29, 1961 and had 4 sons. Danny and Rhee later moved to Texas in 1976, and called White Oak their forever home. She enjoyed her free time worshiping, reading her bible, antiquing, painting, and spending time with her family. Rhee and Danny started a business, Country Naturals, refurbishing antique furniture, creating primitive designs and birdhouses, hand painted Santa gourds and much more. She was lovingly known as the potpourri lady. Rhee, was a mighty woman of God and her love for the Lord radiated onto everyone she was around. She loved her kids and they would say that she always put them first. She found joy in every season of life, especially the season that her grandchildren and great grandchildren were born. Some of the fondest memories were of the easter bunny cake, putting together the nativity scene cake and reading the nativity story out loud during christmas time.
Rhee was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Leona, Gladys, Eunice, Lillian, and Lamar; and nephew, Steven. She leaves behind her loving husband, Danny; sons, Mike Hammond and wife Olga, Jeff Tubbs and wife Sherry, Chris Tubbs and wife Kim, Greg Tubbs; sister, Nomie Stephens and husband Scott; niece, Tracy Henson; nephew, Kevin Ellis; grandchildren, Austin, Carmen, Lauren, Lyndsie, Dustin, Johnny, Kayla, Tony, Sophia and Stephen; great grandchildren, Kolbee, Tyson; and a host of many loved nieces, nephews, family and life long friends.
A Graveside service will be held Thursday March, 24th 2022, at 1:00pm at the Old White Oak cemetery, 121 E Bingham Rd, White Oak, TX 75693. The service will be officiated by John Howze.
