William “Dave” Hale passed away on December 13th, 2024. Dave was born to the late George Ellis Hale and Dorothy Cudmore on June 2nd, 1947 in Denver, Colorado. Dave grew up in Kit Carson, Colorado and moved with his family to Boulder, Colorado in 1961.
Upon graduating from High School in 1965, Dave enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Hawaii where he met his future wife, the love of his life, DeeDee Williams. They married in Hawaii in 1969 and stayed there until Dave separated from the Army. A Colorado boy at heart, Dave had short stints living in Ocean City, MD and Tempe, AZ but ultimately came home and settled in Longmont, where the family has been since.
Dave is survived by his children Jason Hale (Kim Moore) and Matt Hale, 3 grandchildren, Raven, Brenden and Willie, 4 great-grandchildren, Maci, James, John and Cora. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Hale and Jeanie Hale, as well as 9 nieces and nephews. Dave was preceded in death by his beloved wife DeeDee, his father George, his mother Dorothy, his brother Dan, and his sister Lolly. Dave is also survived by many friends.
After a successful career at Farm Credit Services, Dave retired but soon went back to work helping facilitate loans between banks and Farmers and Ranchers. Dave and DeeDee hosted an annual Christmas Caroling party and Dave led the “Choir” with his booming voice. He loved to golf and gamble and gamble while golfing…Dave was smart, funny and generous and always ready to help a person in need and will be greatly missed.
There will be a party to celebrate Dave’s life. Details will be shared in the future.
