Stephen "Steve" P. Deutch

Stephen “Steve” P. Deutch passed away July 18, 2023 after a long battle with cancer. Steve was born April 9, 1958 to John and Isabel (Schlemm) Deutch in Poughkeepsie, New York. The family moved to Longmont in 1972 where Steve graduated from Niwot High School in 1976. He continued his education and received his BA from CU Boulder in 1981 in Chemistry and Economics. Steve worked at Valley Labs, Rocky Flats and Range Fuels retiring in 2019 from National Renewable Energy Labs (NREL) as a research/analytical chemist extraordinaire after 26 years. He enjoyed traveling, hiking, scuba diving and taking long walks with his dog. He also spent many hours working in his yard of which he was very proud. Although Steve enjoyed all these activities, his true love was his wife, Roxann.

Steve is preceded in death by his mother Isabel (Schlemm) Deutch and sister-in-law Judy Ernst. He is survived by his wife Roxann (Ernst) Deutch; father John E. Deutch; sisters Monica Richards and Madeline Deutch; brother Matthew (DeeDee) Deutch; sister in law Jodi (Pete) Dunn; in-laws Harvey and Shirley Ernst; nieces Andrea Richards, Tiffany (Aaron) Broadhurst, Maylee Dunn and Kylin Dunn; nephew Jeremy (Amanda) Deutch; 2 grandnieces and 2 grandnephews.

Steve will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Services will be held Monday, 7/24, 10am at the Well Church, 1240 Francis St, Longmont, CO followed by burial at Foothills Gardens of Memory in Longmont.
