Skip McCaslin, 72, of Boulder County, Colorado, passed away on November 4, 2023. He was born on July 31, 1951, in Port Hueneme CA, the son of Robert A. McCaslin and Jeanne R. McCaslin, his mother whom he loved and adored. Skip was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Skip, also known as Ronnie Merle McCaslin, had a passion for carpentry and was a skilled builder. Throughout his career, he dedicated himself to his craft, leaving behind a legacy of exceptional craftsmanship. His attention to detail and dedication to his work made him a respected carpenter and builder.
Outside of his professional life, Skip had a love for the great outdoors. He was an incredible athlete who excelled in any sport he engaged in. Whether it was fishing, hunting or camping, Skip found solace and joy in nature. His love for fishing was a lifelong skill and favorite pastime. Skip was known for his good nature, sense of humor, and kind-hearted personality. His presence would light up any room, and he had a way of making everyone around him feel comfortable and at ease. He had a special bond and cherished the time spent with his mother, Jeanne R. McCaslin. He loved his brother Michael D. McCaslin, and his sister Kathy Lynn "Kelly" Aasen. He is also survived by his aunt, two cousins, three nephews, one niece, five grandnieces, and one grandnephew, and last but not least, his beloved canine companion “Gyro”.
Skip's rugged character was carved by adventures and hardships alike, shaped by a carefree spirit and the resilience to endure some tough experiences. Aside from learning through life’s lessons, he attended Einstein Junior High for his primary education and later graduated from Madison High School.
The world has lost a talented carpenter, a passionate outdoorsman, and a genuinely good natured guy. Skip's memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the beautiful works he created.
In honoring Skip McCaslin's life, we remember his unwavering dedication to his craft, his love for the outdoors, and his ability to bring joy to those around him. May his soul rest in eternal peace. His ashes will be divided and spread between Hygiene Cemetery and the ocean. A sincere thanks to the support and love he received throughout his life from his special friends in Colorado and their help in this unexpected tragedy.
