Robert Owen Boulton

Robert (Bob) Boulton, age 94, of Longmont, Colorado passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022 in Longmont, CO. Robert was born May 28, 1928, in a homestead cabin south of Silt Colorado to Owen and Margaret Boulton.

Not that heaven has a need for a guy who can fix most anything, but if there is ever a need, Bob will be there to help.

Bob grew up on the family ranch near Silt and attended Rifle High school where he graduated in 1945. Bob continued to work on the ranch from 1942 until 1952 when he was drafted into the Army and served in Korea. He was mustered out of the Army in 1954 and returned to working on the ranch. Bob met Esther Benson and they were married May 28, 1955. They moved to Texas, where Susan was born in 1956. Bob and Esther moved back to the Boulton ranch in 1957, and in 1958 Mark was born. In 1964, Bob and Esther moved the family to Longmont where Bob started selling Snap-on Tools.

Bob and Esther were active in the church and watched their kids grow up and graduate from Longmont High school. They enjoyed traveling with the family and riding snowmobiles in the winter. Summer saw many trips into the family cabin close to Meeker Colorado. They lovingly accepted nephew and niece Eric and Amy Benson into their home in 1978 at ages 3 and 2 as a second family. Bob enjoyed selling Snap-On Tools for over 24 years and made many friends from the customers he sold tools to. He was an elder in the church and helped with a lot of odd jobs and oversaw many big projects for them.

Bob retired from Snap-On Tools in 1988, but stayed active by shuttling cars and titles for local car dealerships, building cabinets and doing many woodworking projects in his shop.

Bob is survived by his sister Marian Wooding of New Jersey, his daughter Susan of Longmont, and his son Mark & his wife Beth, grandson Anthony, granddaughter Annabelle of Jacksonville FL. He is also survived by nephew Eric Benson of Loveland CO, niece Amy Benson of Collbran CO, Paige Benson, Kaelin Benson and Michael Benson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Esther Boulton, his parents Owen and Margaret, brothers Weston and George.

Visitation at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel is Monday, July 25, 2022, 4-6 PM. Graveside Service at Rose Hill Cemetery, Rifle, CO Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 11:00 AM. A celebration of life for Bob will be held Friday, July 29th, 2022 at 11:00AM, at LifeBridge Christian Church, 10345 Ute Highway, Longmont, CO 80504, followed by a reception at the church.
