Richard Trent Schlagel

Richard Trent Schlagel, 45, of Longmont, died Sunday, April 29, 2007 in Grand Junction due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.Rich was born November 7, 1961 in Longmont to Richard and Shirley (Wright) Schlagel. He attended Longmont High School. Rich's former marriage to Tamara Thompson (Moore) took place on March 27, 1989 in Bullhead, AZ.Mr. Schlagel had worked for several years as a welder with Mountain View Welding. Most recently, he had been assisting his brother build a home in Grand Junction. He loved to work with his hands, and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved to fly remote controlled airplanes with his son, Jeremy.He will be greatly missed by his mother, Shirley Schlagel; children, Jeremy and Jessica Schlagel; three brothers, Barry Schlagel and his wife, Mary, Kurt Schlagel and his wife, Gina and Greg Schlagel and his wife, Kiki; his former wife, Tammy Thompson; and a host of friends and extended family.He was preceded in death by his father.Cremation took place in Grand Junction.
