Patricia Rena Gillespie

Patricia Patty Rena Gillespie, 56, passed away April 2, 2017, at TRU Community Hospice Care Center of Boulder. Patty was born July 20, 1960, in Colorado Springs, CO., to Ferma Nissen. She grew up in Denver and graduated from Jefferson High School. On September 11, 1982, she married the love of her life, Anthony Richard Gillespie. He blessed her with two children, Collin and Ashley. They moved from Denver to Lafayette in 1986 and spent the next 16 years there. In 2004, they moved to Frederick.Patty worked for the Boulder Valley School District. She was the executive assistant to the principal for Creekside Elementary and for Angevine Middle School, where she retired from in 2016 with 24 years. She is remembered for her happy energy and outlook and was truly loved by many of her coworkers.Patty treasured spending time with her family and her adoring grandchildren. She enjoyed camping, traveling, family functions and lit up when playing board games with her grandchildren. She loved social events with friends, spending time together, dancing and especially live music and attending concerts.Patty was a strong and faithful woman of God her entire life and attended Rocky Mountain Christian Church of Frederick. Prior to RMCC, she attended Flatirons Community Church.Patty is survived by her husband Tony, her son Collin (Breanna), her daughter Ashley, grandchildren; Anthony, Aniah, Urijah, Nathaniel, and King; her mother Ferma; brother Nick Wilson, sisters Judith Williams and Matty Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 PM, Friday, April 7, 2017, at Rocky Mountain Christian Church Frederick Campus, 5860 Majestic St., Frederick, CO, 80504.
