He was born in September of 1952 in Miami Beach, Florida, to Norman Tatum Sr and Berna (Dramalis) Tatum. Born into a military family, Jack lived in many states and also Okinawa, Japan.
He moved with his parents to Boulder from Sacramento, California in 1964. He attended and graduated from Fairview High School in Boulder. He attended Vo-Tech in Boulder and Engineman A School in Great Lakes, IL. Jack was a proud veteran of the US Navy.
He married Mary Baillet on June 23, 1973 in Laurel, Montana. After his service in the Navy, Jack went to work for Lifecare in Boulder from 1978-1993. He had a handyman business until he retired. The couple lived in the Boulder area for 50 years.
Jack's faith was important to him and he attended Faithpoint Church in Longmont. Jack loved to restore collectible cars and hot rods, camping and bicycling. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Tatum of Frederick, a son; Norman "Joc" Tatum III(Kelly), three daughters; Tonya Bernal (Chris) of Frederick, Daycia Langridge (Tim) of Frederick, and Kami Fugate (Jarrod) of Thornton, a sister; Jill Cooper of Sheridan, WY, 6 grandchildren; Brandon Langridge (Lauryn), Megan Langridge, Jacob Fugate, Shiloh Fugate, Gianna Tatum, and Emalyn Tatum, many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held for Jack on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 11 am at Faithpoint Church in Longmont, 833 15th Ave.
A graveside service with military honors will be on December 22, 2023 at 11 am at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
