Mary Kenny

Mary Kenny, 96, passed away January 28, 2016 at the Bridge Assisted Living in Longmont, CO.Mary was born April 4, 1919 in Harrisburg, Illinois to Patrick Joseph and Katherine (Wigginton) Moriarty. She married Martin Francis Kenny on September 25, 1937 in Bridgeton, Missouri.Mary lived for many years in Brighton, Colorado and Yuma, Arizona before moving to Longmont in 1990.In Yuma, Mary was a school cafeteria manager with the Yuma School District, retiring in 1984.Mary was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in Longmont. She was also a voracious reader, loved cooking specialty dishes, sewing (especially sewing for her grandchildren), and in more recent years she had become an avid Denver Broncos fan. She also enjoyed playing cards and shuffleboard at the Longmont Senior Center.She was preceded in death by her husband and by one son, Thomas Kenny.Mary is survived by eleven children: Marty Kenny (Aggie), Michael Kenny (Kathy), Patty Danks (John), Mary Ellen Colwell (Hout), James Kenny, Joan Peck (Bob), Dan Kenny (Debra), Chris Kenny, Terry Kenny, Kevin Kenny and Maureen Zavala (Adrian). Mary is also survived by 98 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 pm Friday, February 5, 2016 at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, immediately followed by Rosary Prayers. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Saint Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in Longmont. Interment will be at Foothills Gardens of Memory.
