Margaret was born in Orange, Texas on September 26, 1936. She was one of eight children born to Maya Marie (Marceaux) and Numa Joseph Veazey. She grew up in Beaumont and Port Arthur, Texas and later moved to Aransas Pass, Texas where her father worked as a shrimper, and there she remained through high school.
Margaret married Franklin D. Harris in the Aransas Pass Catholic Church on July 25, 1953. She was given away at the wedding by her brother, Johnny Veazey. Margaret and Franklin welcomed seven beautiful children into the world; five sons and two daughters. The family moved to the Longmont area from Bayou Vista, Louisiana in 1974.
Margaret was mother first and foremost; but she also worked throughout her life in various positions relating to crafts and sewing and worked in the K.S. Deli until 1995. She was a Christian woman of strong faith and she was a woman of great conviction. She enjoyed crafting. If she saw it, she could make it. Margaret loved her family. She was a devoted wife, a wonderful mother, and a doting grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Numa and Maya Veazey, brothers, Richard, Eddie, Johnny, Cecil, & Junior Veazey, and her sisters, Audrey Thomas and Della Arceneaux. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy and is survived by her husband of 68 years, Franklin Harris, sons, Jim Harris (Dawn), Sam Harris (Pam), Eddie Harris (Lorie), Frank Harris, and Don Harris (Mary); daughters, Janet Durnen (Randy) and Sarah Durnen (Rick); sister, Lula Justillian; grandchildren, Stephanie (Justin), Audra (Kevin), Jacquie (Jeff), Nick (Alicia), Kirsten (Stuart), Josie (Jacob), Jamie (Jackie), Britni, Jessica, Rachel (Austin), Michael, and Joshua; great-grandchildren, Logan, Reanna, Brayden, Halle, Dirk, Quinn, Aiyana, Conner, Gabe, Liz, Hunter, Jaxon, Oaklen, Emerye, and Jenevieve; and by numerous nieces and nephews who were loved just as her own.
