Lowell Thomas Dugan, Sr. passed away at Longmont United Hospital April 25, 2014. Lowell was born on July 15, 1921 to Earl Lowell Dugan and Una Leona Moon in Green, Kansas. Lowell received his education at Green Grade School, Clay Center High School and Green High School where he graduated in 1939.Lowell enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and was discharged in 1945. On August 2, 1943 Lowell married Betty Eileen Anderson in Corpus Christi, TX. They were married for 70 years. They had one son Lowell Thomas Dugan, Jr. who was married to Sharon Ancell who preceded him in death, and Bonnie Diehl.Together they moved to Boulder in 1947 where Lowell was involved in construction; and then they moved to Longmont in 1993 where they retired.Lowell enjoyed playing drums, camping, fishing, playing cards, watching the Broncos and Rockies games and spending time with family. He was a member of the Carpenters Union and the Boulder Elks.Lowell is preceded in death by his wife Betty, his son Lowell Thomas Dugan Jr., a daughter-in-law Sharon (Ancell) Dugan, Thomas Stephens who was like a son to him, his parents, two brothers Arland and Arlo, and two sisters Ihla and Clella. He is survived by his daughter-in-law Bonnie Stephens, six grandchildren Darren Dugan (Jennifer), Jesse Dugan (Aimee), Erin Dugan, Hollie (Hicks) Henderson (Jordan), Chris Stephens (Laura), Jody Stephens (Hayley), great grandchildren; Jamie, Justin, Jack, Katelee, Emilee, Rylee, Weslee and Samuel; and all of his extended and adopted family whom he loved.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday May 2, 2014 at Grace Evangelical Free Church 2415 Lake Park Dr, Longmont, CO 80503. Inurnment will be at Foothills Gardens of Memory with his wife Betty. Memorial contributions to The American Cancer Society in honor of Betty.
