Born on January 1, 1946, Lee was the New Year’s Baby in the small town where his parents lived in Massachusetts.
He was a navy man, enlisting during the Vietnam War, serving aboard the USS Shenandoah (AD-26) in the 6th Fleet. He also had an interest in electronics and continued that passion during his time in the navy and after as a Quality and Reliability Engineer. He held professional certifications in both through the American Society for Quality. Lee also studied chess and was an excellent player. He played by mail with a friend from the navy for decades.
Lee is survived by his wife, Cecile; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Laurie; son Glenn Labay, daughter Gail Labay, daughter Susan Cameron; grandchildren: Colin, Kenya, Collin, Evan, Rebecca, Olivia, Jack, Apollo; great-grandson, Canaan; his siblings: Lois, Sue, and Jean; his uncle Wally, and numerous extended family members throughout New England.
A celebration of life for Lee will be held Friday, October 11, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman Street, Longmont, Colorado 80501. A reception will follow at 3:00 PM.
