Joe is survived by his wife, Harolyn J (Breen) Huerta of Bismark, N.D. He is the son of the late George and Anita Huerta of Bethlehem, PA. He is the father of his late daughter, JoLynn Michelle Huerta.
Joe served during WWII and retired from the Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton, CA. Upon his return from Vietnam in 1977, Joe was employed by Sears & Roebuck in Customer Service for 18 years; St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, CA for 3 years in Security and Patient Care. His favorite retirement job was working for Arnies' Trains in California where he developed his passion for model trains.
Joe is further survived by his daughter, Catherine M Knecht of Catasauqua, PA, his son, Michael E Huerta of Catasauqua, PA, sister in law, Betty Cunningham of Catasauqua, PA, and Jenny Huerta of Winter Springs, FL., 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grand children.
A recitation of the rosary for Joseph will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. at Howe Mortuary & Crematory, 439 Coffman St in Longmont. A Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, October 20, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont. A reception will follow Mass at the church from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Interment will occur Friday, October 20, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
