Johnny Ray Minch passed away March 16, 2017 at Life Care Center of Longmont. He was 77 years old.Johnny was born on December 17, 1939, in Mead, CO, on the family farm to John and Katherine (Eisenach) Minch. He grew up farming and attending school in Mead, CO.He served in the U.S. Army with the 11th Engineer Battalion from 1963 “ 1965 in Korea. Johnny married Sally Connolly in 1967 in Longmont, CO, and they later divorced.Johnny was a car salesman for Longmont's two largest dealerships, Sheely Motors and Folker`s Motors in the 1970's. He later opened his own used car dealerships and owned and operated a towing company.He was of the Lutheran faith and a member of the VFW and American Legion.Johnny enjoyed buying storage units and going to auctions, NASCAR, Broncos games, fishing, boating and caring for his dogs.He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers Vernon and Edward Bud Minch.Johnny is survived by his son Rob (Jeaninne) Minch; his daughter Rebecca Clint; his grandchildren Ethan and Kaitlynn Clint, James Yekel and Andrea Wilson; his great grandchildren Alexis and Ph nix Wilson; his sister-in-law Diana; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and his longtime friend Ken Van Proosdy.A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday March 23, 2017, at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Private family inurnment at Ft. Logan National Cemetery. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Memorial contributions can be made to the Longmont Humane Society.
