Jenny Bean of Longmont died Monday, January 2nd at Longmont United Hospital surrounded by her family. The last two years Jennifer battled health issues associated with Kidney disease and ultimately died of heart failure.
Jennifer was born on July 25th, 1941 in Del Norte Colorado to John and Loretta Aschenbrenner. She was raised in Clifton Colorado and attended Central High School where she was a member of the cheerleading squad. She met her husband of 63 years Robert (Bob) Bean in Clifton through her Uncle Wendy who was Bob’s best friend. After moving to Ft. Riley Kansas while Bob served in the Army, they moved back to Colorado and eventually made their home in Longmont, Colorado. They raised five Children. Jennifer ran her own commercial cleaning business for 17 years. She then worked at IBM as an Executive Assistant and retired from IBM after 15 years of service. Jennifer was an avid bowler and was the league secretary/treasurer for many years at Longmont Lanes. Jenny and Bob were members of a pinochle club for 10 years, they also danced in a square dance club and were members of the M&M Dance Club where they served as board members for several years. She enjoyed camping, boating and playing competitive women’s softball later spearheading the family’s coed softball team she jokingly referred to as the “Beanfield”. Jennifer also cherished her friendships and participated in both coffee and birthday groups. Everyone said she lit up a room with her infectious laughter. But mostly Jennifer adored dancing with her husband.
Jennifer proudly honored the names of Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandma.
Jennifer is survived by her husband Robert Bean, daughters Catherine Stenson (Mark), Carolyn Angstead (Ron), Celeste Miller, son Curtis Bean (Tonya), Grandchildren, Sarah Osborn (Brian) and Kyle Bean, Tyson (Kristen) and Taylor Stenson, Casey, Garret, and Joshua Angstead, Bryce and Brady Bean, Logan Miller and Great Grandchildren, Natalie, Evan, Colin and Blake Osborn, Preston, Landon, and Trenton Stenson.
Jennifer is preceded in death by her parents, John and Loretta Aschenbrenner, Brother John Aschenbrenner, Sister Patricia Aschenbrenner, son Christopher Bean and grandson Brian Bean.
