On 7-14-2023 “Jerry” Kreutzer crossed over to the side of existence we can’t see. He passed with his son Keith by his side. Jerry was born in Fresno, California. He spent his early years causing trouble with his friends and working on hotrods. As a young man he joined the Navy and became a submariner and was living in San Diego, CA where he met his wife of 65 years, Stephanie. He made lifelong friends with his Navy buddies, and till the very end, it was the part of his life that gave him the most joy when sharing his experience.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald Sr. and Murial Kreutzer, and his sister Rosemary. He is survived by his wife Stephanie and children Keith Kreutzer and Kathleen George, and grandchildren Samantha and Ryan.
Jerry and Stephanie, and their small children moved to Boulder in 1965 where he worked for 36 years with IBM as a manager, and in his spare time, he rebuilt cars for the satisfaction of making something from nothing. He truly embraced the Colorado lifestyle by becoming a steward for healthy forests and worked to mitigate forest damage from the pine bark beetle in the 1970’s.
He loved to travel. First with the whole family, camping all over the U.S. where he made the best campfire breakfast, then abroad where he made great friends from across the pond. Through the last year of his life, Jerry was deeply grateful for the help from his wonderful neighbors and his children. They all loved and cared about Jerry.
He had a full life, with decades of adventure, and pursuit of the big and little things that life offers.
We will miss him so very much.
