George Lee Harris

It is with deep sorrow in our hearts that we tell you about the passing of our beloved Brother, Father, Grandfather and Great grandfather George Lee Harris on July 1, 2024 at the age of 84. George was born in Pawhuska, Oklahoma on July 16, 1939 and moved, with his family, to California for a short time before settling in Denver in 1945. In 1978, George moved to Longmont with Suzanne Economakos and they built a beautiful life together. George was devoted to Sue and when he retired from King Soopers in 1999, they became dedicated volunteers at Longmont United Hospital, and they loved to travel together. George was a kind and generous man who always made sure the people around him were taken care of. He had a heart of gold with a wicked sense of humor who always had a joke at the ready and a riddle to follow. He loved to spend time with friends and family and fishing with the grandkids put a smile on his face. He is survived by his siblings, Virgil Harris, John Wayne Harris, Chris Harris, and Barbara Battaia and their spouses. His children Michael, Paul, Mark, Laura and Barbara and their spouses. 11 grandchildren and he was blessed to have 4 great grandchildren that he was able to hug and hold before he passed; Rhealoni Marie, Avelyn Jane, Axton Rylan and Ailene Marie Elizabeth. We were blessed with his support, wisdom, intelligence and sense of humor but, most of all, his never ending love. We will forever be grateful that God shared him with us.
