Earl Lavonn Tilford

Earl was born on July 6, 1931 in Hill City, Kansas to Wayne and Ruth (Johnson) Tilford. He married his high school sweetheart Henrietta Wilson on July 1, 1951. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Wichita Falls, TX.

Although he worked his entire life as a heavy equipment operator for Golden’s Sand and Gravel, Earl's greatest accomplishment was as a dedicated husband and father.

He was a member at First Christian Church, before helping to found Rocky Mountain Christian Church. Recently Earl was attending LifeBridge Christian Church.

Earl loved bowling; working in his shop and spending time with his family, especially vacations and family get togethers.

He was preceded in death by his wife Henrietta; his parents and his granddaughter Karly Shipkey.

Earl is survived by his children Steve Tilford (Lori Taylor), Teresa Shipkey (Carl), Dwight Tilford (Jana) and Michael Tilford (Karen); his grandchildren Tara Musselman, Tannea Musselman, Mariah Shipkey, Kody Shipkey, Craig Tilford(Lauren), Dr. Sean Tilford (Margaret Anne) and Tyler Tilford (Ashleigh); a great granddaughter Lucie Tilford and his brother Robert Tilford (Rachel).

A family Graveside service will be held at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery and a Celebration of Life will be announced later. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Visit www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com to share condolences.
