Donna Jean Shank

Donna Jean Shank, formerly of Longmont, passed away February 18, 2019 at her home in Thornton.She was born September 30, 1931 in Cedar Vale, Kansas to Charles Virgil and Aldine Gertrude (Hills) Hill. Donna grew up in Cedar Vale and graduated from Cedar Vale High School.On February 10, 1951 she married Robert William Shank. They moved to Arvada, CO in 1968 from Wichita, KS and to Longmont in 1995 from Broomfield, CO.Donna was a bookkeeper and worked many years for McCormick Mathers Book Publishers in Wichita and for the Bath Boutique in Arvada.Donna was a devoted and devout Christian, knowing Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a member at the Lakewood Church of the Nazarene where she was active singing in the choir and with the worship team .She attended City on the Hill Church in Boulder from 1981 until her death.She was an avid fan of the Denver Nuggets and the Colorado Rockies. Donna enjoyed making silk flower arrangements and cooking.She was preceded in death by her husband Robert and brother Jim Hill.Donna is survived by her son Steve Shank and wife Chanler of Estes Park, daughter Sally Wertzbaugher and husband Douglas, five grandchildren Micah, Haven, Erika, Evangela and Jordan and ten great grandchildren.Memorial service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Vinelife Church, 7845 Lookout Road, Boulder.
