Donna M. Holland of Frederick, Colorado passed away after a long and courageous battle against heart disease on Monday, July 7th of 2014. She was 85 years old.Donna Maybell (Rose) Holland was born in Longmont, Colorado on March 27, 1929 to Fred and Maybell (Parker) Rose.Donna married Robert (Bob) Lee Holland on July 14, 1946 at the Callahan House in Longmont where they also celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in July 2006. The couple were devotedly married a total of 67 years.After Donna's husband had served in the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard in World War II they made their home in Casper, Wyoming and Des Moines, Iowa until they returned to Colorado where they lived in the city of Boulder, Colorado proper, then in a country home near Niwot, Colorado and ultimately making their home in Frederick, Colorado.Donna was a homemaker, a Kirby Vacuum Cleaner distributor and later worked for the Hoover Company as a demonstrator for eleven years before retiring in 2004.She was an avid horsewoman and enjoyed competition having been active in 4H in her early years. Donna was a tennis enthusiast enjoying her own tennis court at her and Bob's home near Niwot. The tennis court was a precious gift from her beloved Bob in order to continue her fight against heart disease. Donna was a devoted cyclist and enjoyed vigorous exercising. Later in life, Donna became a voracious reader, a puzzle solver and an iPad enthusiast.Her family was her pride and joy.Donna lost her beloved husband Bob to cancer on February 16th, 2014.Donna is survived by two children, Robert Holland Jr. and wife Susan of Maryland and Christopher Holland and his wife Mary Jane of Colorado. Donna has four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Donna is also survived by her dedicated sister, Patricia (Rose) Pope and her husband Ron of Longmont, Colorado, sister-in-law Ann Rose of Loveland, Colorado and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews, friends and neighbors.Donna was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Willard A.
