Diana Cooper Steven Williams beloved wife, mother and Nanny passed away Saturday June 5, 2021 in Boulder, Colorado after an 11-year battle with cancer. She was born on May 24, 1944 in Wick, Scotland to the late Jessie (Swanson) Brown and Robert Brown of Pennyland House in Watten, Caithness, Scotland.
Diana grew up and attended schools in Watten and Wick, Scotland. After graduating from Wick High School, she worked as an assistant to a lawyer and then joined the police force and was assigned to work in Thurso, Scotland. It was there that she met her future husband Kenneth Williams, a US Navy sailor, stationed at the local Naval base. The two were married on December 11, 1971 and moved to the United States in 1974. Diana then worked for the government as an accountant until she retired.
Family and friends were very important in her life. She always put them before herself. If she saw someone in need, she would give all she had even if it meant she was left with none herself. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach, cruises, or anywhere her grandchildren wanted to go. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and she loved nothing more than being their Nanny.
Diana is survived by a host of family members including her devoted husband Kenneth Williams, loving daughters Caroline Williams (Jeff) and Tracey Hutsell (Glen); precious grandchildren Ethan, Garrett and Riley; step-grandchildren Tommy and Gracie; sister Agnes (Ced) as well as many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Diana was preceded in death by her brother, David.
Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 10am at Howe Mortuary Chapel, Longmont, CO.
